W over the vale of Clwyd to various bits of Snowdonia. They're hazy, the fields are a nice patchwork. Not quite sure what the one on the far L is, even after checking a topograph online.

Just to show how windy it was at times for this day and the next two - definitely peaking on the 3rd day but still very strong the other days.

For James - goats on the Orme. Fine goats they are too. Need a proper zoom lens, tripod etc to get a sharp photo mind.

The Conwy estuary/subsequent coastline. The coastal path apparently sneaks a way round the edge there, even when the road gets driven into a tunnel. I went on the alternative route just behind those headlands. Fine route it is too, although.....

Some quite big, brief storm hit Llandudno in the evening and I got the rainbow when trying to hunt down food (not quite as easy as I'd have imagined actually.). Full rainbow but this bit was rather stronger.

Just to show how surrounded by sea Llandudno actually is. Windy at this point but the rain was mostly off battering places further W. Alas I was due further west....

Some of the high Carrnedau in the distance looking very grim. Quite right too. Must have been truly terrible up there. It was bad enough at ~400 meters!

A bit hazy and I guess slightly out of focus - this was the next day but still a very strong wind. Important moment though as I got W of Caernarfon and the guardians hills of the Llyn (pictured) finally appeared. Very impressive they are too. Very nice spot/area actually.

The Nantile hills - I pulled E from the coast a bit for my B&B which put me up against these. That was mostly so I could sensibly get over Bwlch Mawr, of which quite a bit more in a second....

Nantile and other stuff deeper into Snowdonia from the minor road that goes up/round Bwlch Mawr. That actually gives fairly fantastic views for no effort if driving.... The cloud wreathed one at the back is very likely Snowdon.

The slope you climb up Bwlch Mawr - basically perfect for a small hill climb this. Nicely gradiated earth with minimal bog, sessile oaks and a nice chunk of rock at the top. And a very noisy cuckoo.

Another full range group shot, although there's an awful lot of stuff that shows further round to the W and E than this.

The summit area of Bwlch Mawr - it really does think its a proper mountain. Boulder fields and I half suspect the actual top is on top of some decent sized pile of rocks.

Its a child's painting :) Gyrn Goch and the sea. There is land between the two (walked on later in fact) but it does drop down quite fast. The actual top of all this moorland is Gyrn Ddu, which is just to the L of Gyrn Goch so off the edge of this photo. Hardly higher than Bwlch Mawr though and I suspect not as good a viewpoint, for Snowdonia at least.

The Llyn. Hilly! Gyrn Ddu showing, Yr Eifl is the scree covered pile just behind but the hills actually roll on all the way to the sea, and indeed through it to Bardsey island. They all rise from ~sea level so they're quite striking despite being 500m tops.

Back to Snowdonia from the moor beneath Bwlch Mawr - the Llyn does tend to get rather nicer weather!

I think Gyrn Ddu/Goch and Moel-Pen-llechog from Bwlch yr Eifl - I didn't climb the final extra bit to the summit of Yr Eifl but already good views from here. Bwlch Mawr is obscured.

This doesn't do it justice really - its Carn Fadryn which *looms* from various points towards the end of the Llyn. All 371 metres of it. I did try to dream ways to fit it in, but it doesn't really work as its bang in the middle of the peninsula.

My sort of beach on the N side of the Llyn. Quite a few of these tiny things round there actually, obviously under water a lot of the time.

Is the sea really meant to be that colour in the UK?
