Farne islands seeming close enough to touch. You can see the jointing in the basalt. Its the same rock that causes high force over in Teesdale, crags on Hadrians wall etc. A volcanic intrusion which is very erosion resistant indeed. - IMG_5695.JPG
One of the stream outflows - obviously these can get rather more serious at higher tide! - IMG_5703.JPG
Shiny! - IMG_5704.JPG
Astonishing numbers of sea birds. Seemingly resting as surely can't be a nesting spot there. - IMG_5717.JPG
Something relentlessly *blue* about this one. - IMG_5727.JPG
The tide was getting a bit closer on Embleton sands. - IMG_5733.JPG
Not the North sea! - IMG_5746.JPG
Meadows outside Craster, making it even prettier. Fence spoils things a little. - IMG_5751.JPG
Dunstanburgh in the distance. - IMG_5770.JPG
And done! Not the best weather overall but you do always expect to lose the odd day over a fortnight. Not absolutely convinced by the Cheviots, or some of the Northumbrian hills vs some other places. The coast is very nice though and the N Pennines has a lot of impressive spots in it. Might drive N then W along the coast to Edinburgh next.
